Rogério Alves Comments on Investigation about Ivo Rosa

Rogério Alves, managing partner of RA, commented, during the program Explicador on Rádio Observador, the legitimacy of the investigation carried out against judge Ivo Rosa.

He pointed out that an anonymous complaint can only determine the opening of an investigation if it contains evidence of committing a crime, or if it itself constitutes a crime. It is necessary to explain why the Public Prosecutor's Office triggered a set of intrusive mechanisms with no (apparent) basis. He noted that this constitutes a constraint that threatens judicial activity.

He also emphasized that judges must be free to decide according to the law and their conscience, as is typical of a rule of law.
