New Legal Regime for Electric Mobility

The New Legal Regime for Electric Mobility, approved by Decree-Law no. 93/2025, of August 14, came into force on August 19, repealing the previous regime.

This diploma reflects the approval of a new electric mobility model in Portugal, based on the introduction of new charging models, the definition of a new model to replace the centralized management of the electric mobility network, the elimination of the figure of the Electricity Merchant for Electric Mobility, the creation of the Data Aggregation Entity for Electric Mobility and the alteration of the conditions for accessing the operation of charging points, among other new features.
