Ana Isabel Barona Participates in the 'National Decision' Debate

Ana Isabel Barona, partner at Rogério Alves e Associados, participated in RTP International's “National Decision” program (episode 18, on May 17th, 2025), dedicated to trends in the labor market and the challenges faced by migrant workers, together with Ângela Tavares, advisor to the Portuguese communities in Switzerland, and João Verdades, lawyer and former advisor to the communities in Luxembourg.

During her speech, Ana Isabel Barona emphasized the need to ensure that foreign workers obtain a residence permit as a precondition for entering into employment contracts, as a warning about the risk of undeclared work and exploitation, to which many are subject.

The urgent need to combat practices such as human beings' trafficking - a modern form of slavery - through effective international cooperation between States, thus promoting the dignity of work and the defense of fundamental rights, was also highlighted.
