Professional Experience
Filipe Barata began his career at HAAG – Sociedade de Advogados, R.L., from 2000 to 2012, as a Trainee Lawyer and later on as an Associate, where he has mainly focused in the areas of Litigation, Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate Law and Pharmaceutical Law.
Filipe Batata joined ABBC – Azevedo Neves, Benjamim Mendes, Carvalho & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, R.L. (DLA Piper’s focus firm in Portugal), from 2012 to 2013, as of-counsel, mainly in the areas of Commercial Law, Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, Pharmaceutical Law.
As of 2013, Filipe Barata is the founding partner of Rogério Alves & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, R.L. being in charge for the practice area of Business Law and heading the areas of Corporate Law, Pharmaceutical Law and International Business Law (Angola and Portuguese Speaking Countries).
Filipe Barata’s professional activity is highlighted by a vast experience in legal advice in the areas of Corporate Law, Commercial Law and Insolvency Law, Real Estate Law and Pharmaceutical Law.
During his career, Filipe Barata has participated actively in companies restructuring procedures, mergers, de-mergers, acquisitions, assets and business groups re-financing and restructuring, as well as in the incorporation and the restructuring of companies and business groups, providing legal advice both to several national and international companies.
Filipe Barata has mainly developed his activity in the Republic of Angola and in the advising of several national companies and citizens in their internationalization procedures.
In addition, Filipe Barata has participated in several Real Estate promotion transactions, Real Estate investment and disinvestment transactions, Real Estate financing and refinancing transactions, Real Estate Agreements, Licensing and Urban Operations, having also participated in multidisciplinary support teams of several projects.
Regarding his activity in Pharmaceutical Law, Filipe Barata has engaged in providing legal advice to pharmaceutical distributors and retailers, credit recovery and asset restructuring, as well as in structuring the sale, purchase and restructuring of several pharmacies.
